Techies wanted! WHO is looking for innovative health technologies

The World Health Organization’s medical devices unit invites you to submit your solution to the call for innovative health technologies for low-resource settings. If you have a new technology solution to a well-known health problem, or even to a health problem that has not yet been addressed, you can help the WHO to raise awareness of the pressing need for appropriate design solutions.

We believe Wearable Technologies can offer great solutions and are, therefore, addressing our Wearable Technologies community with this call to action. We are convinced that some of you might be able to help here, and probably have something in mind already. Please keep in mind that the idea needs to be suitable for low-resource settings.

Selected submissions will be published in the WHO Compendium of Innovative Health Technologies 2012, which was initiated to encourage a dialogue between stakeholders and stimulate further development and technology dissemination. The compendium will be published on WHO’s medical devices website and will be available to all interested stakeholders. Maybe your idea has the potential to save lives and will be able to give people suffering access to appropriate health technology.

Learn more about the call. Submission deadline is January 31, 2012.
