Samsung Galaxy Gear to be announced in Berlin

The Executive Vice President of Samsungs’s mobile, Young-hee Lee, will unveil the company’s smartwatch Galaxy Gear at a special event in Berlin, two days before the IFA 2013. Samsungs first smartwatch will not have a flexible display as it was often rumored, according to an exclusive interview with The Korea Times. “We will be introducing a new wearable concept device called Galaxy Gear at our own event in Berlin on Sept. 4,” Lee said. The Galaxy Gear is likely to include a dual-core Exynos processor clocking out at 1.5GHz, 1 GB of storage and run under Android 4.1. Since it might be compatible only with Samsungs’s own smartphones the Galaxy Gear could leverage the ecosystem of the market leader in mobile devices.
