Wearable Technologies Managing Partner Harry Strasser was invited to speak at Techventure 2013 in Singapore on September 25.
Techventure brought together researchers, innovators, venture capitalists, business executives, and incubators like the Wearable Technologies Group. The two-day conference and exhibition is now, with over 700 international delegates and more than 80 exhibitors, one of Asia’s largest platforms for tech companies – the perfect stage for wearable technologies, a topic that is of great interest.
The conference was opened by Mr. Tao Chee Hean, the Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the National Research Foundation (NRF). Following him the conference started with two key-notes by Kevin Hale, Y Combinator and Bill Tai, Charles River Ventures. After a panel discussion about the changing roles of Angels and VCs and a short networking break, attendees could choose between two tracks of panel discussions and presentations.
One of these presentations that afternoon was “Convergence between Mobile Communications, Wearable Technologies, and IoT” by Harry Strasser from Wearable Technologies – you can have a look at the presentation here:
Harry explained the connected body and wearables are all about the connected life and personal data – at least for now. He also gave insight into the markets forecast and if this particular market is ready to cross the chasm. After presenting the key drivers for the wearables market, Harry went on and introduced a new segmentation for this market, as well as our vision for the future of wearable technologies: “We envision a connected world where everything in people’s life will have computing power, wireless connectivity and a lot of sensors.”
After his presentation, Harry part of the judging panel in one of the two Business Pitches, judging the most innovative solutions Singapore has to offer.
