KINEXON and Firstbeat Sports are working together through their innovative platforms to better analyze health metrics. Firstbeat was exhibiting with us at the WT | Wearable Technologies Show at MEDICA. All Firstbeat’s internal load metrics will be imported into the KINEXON App and can be fully analysed after each session via an automated API. It is also possible to connect the KINEXON sensors directly to the Firstbeat sensors for analyses in real-time.

Over 23,000 athletes representing over 1,000 teams around the world – from the Premier League’s Manchester City and Arsenal to Hertha BSC of the Bundesliga, as well as NBA, NFL, and Rugby Premiership teams and NCAA Division I schools – rely on Firstbeat Sports for their advanced physiological metrics.
“Importing the Firstbeat specific metrics on internal load, and combining them with our metrics on external load, adds even more context to our data. Our clients get a complete picture of the individual load of each of their players, therefore helping to improve their performance and lower the risk for injuries. We are very happy to have teamed up with such a great partner,” said Karl Matyschiok, Senior Product Owner KINEXON.
Veli-Pekka Kurunmäki, Firstbeat Director of Sports Performance Products believes that technology plays a big role in today’s modern coaching. “As the possibilities and potential for player tracking are unlimited, it is important to form ecosystems which really streamline the data flow for coaches. The API integration with Kinexon provides Firstbeat Sports users with a new dimension to inspect relationships between internal and external load and a deeper understanding on player physiological profiles,” he said.
Amongst the clients already using the integrated Firstbeat and Kinexon systems to their advantage are the German Ice Hockey Federation DEB, said a press release.
“We are looking forward to the integration of our Firstbeat data into the KINEXON tracking system and expect to get even more detailed analyses of our athletes,” says Karl Schwarzenbrunner, DEB National Coach for Science and Education.
