Smart Tracking Technologies, a Jacksonville, FL-based IoT company, acquired Wearable Pet Technology Company Link AKC. Link AKC, a GPS enabled dog collar, won the CES 2017 “Best of Innovation” award in the Wearable Technologies category.

Smart Tracking Technologies will now start working on a host of improvements and updates to the Link AKC™ product line, including eventually opening up the Link AKC platform for 3rd party developers through the creation of an SDK. The first update can be expected within 30 days, says a press release.

The tracking technology industry is ripe with opportunity, and this new partnership will allow us to improve the user experience over the coming months and ultimately create a stronger bond between pet owners and their pets,” Said Donny Lamey, CEO of Smart Tracking Technologies, LLC.

The Link AKC will move its headquarters to Jacksonville, FL, but will maintain a presence in Stamford, CT. Chief Growth Officer Herbie Calves will retain his position and the company’s CFO will be Gabriele Beyer.
