CHF is a chronic condition that affects the pumping power of your heart muscles. CHF is the stage in which the heart’s pumping power decreases due to fluid buildup around the heart.
CDC estimates around 5.7 million adults in the United States have Congestive Heart Failure. About half of people who develop heart failure die within 5 years of diagnosis. CHF costs the nation an estimated $30.7 billion each year, which involves medications, caring and treatment. People with high blood pressure or diabetes are at a greater risk of developing CHF. Chronolife wants to improve the quality of life of people with Congestive Heart Failure by predict and prevent a heart attack.
Made by a French startup with the same name, the vest claims to measure six key physiological stats in real time, and combines these with machine learning to predict the likelihood of an oncoming heart attack, reports Cnet.
The smart vest is meant to be worn daily. Sensors embedded in the vest keep tabs on your breathing, electrical activity of your heart, body temperature and overall physical activity, including falling. The user, as well as the healthcare providers can access this data via an app. It doesn’t require internet connection and the data is saved in a secure cloud service. The vest is also machine washable.
