After the huge popularity of Mi Band 5, Xiaomi has launched its latest fitness tracker, the Mi Band 6. We reveal here the features and improvements of Mi Band 6.
Design
The Xiaomi Mi Band 6 has the same shape as the Xiaomi Mi Band 5 it but comes with a slightly larger screen than its predecessor. Because Xiaomi now also uses the roundness of the screen, the display grows to 4 centimeters (1.56 inches), measured in height from bottom to top. The predecessor still got by with 2.8 centimeters diagonal (2.5 centimeters high). The resolution of the new display is high at 152×486 pixels (326 ppi). According to the manufacturer, there are over 60 dials to choose from as a background. The case should be made of plastic as usual, as well as the bracelet. The tracker is waterproof to 50 meters (5 ATM) and can withstand swimming training.

It is a pity that no GPS was integrated, which was initially leaked as a function to be included. Joggers therefore still have to access the GPS function of the smartphone while running. However, with such a good price-performance ratio, we still only rate the missing GPS module as a minor weakness, since buyers of more expensive competing models often have to do without it.

Special features
Like its predecessor, the Mi Band 6 will have pulse measurement, sleep tracking, running, movement reminder, guided breathing exercises, menstrual cycle tracker, music control, step counter or alarm clock. In addition, like Mi Band 5, the new tracker is also waterproof with 5 ATM and can therefore be used without problems when swimming, bathing or showering.
The 11 sport modes of the Mi Band 5 have now been expanded to 30 sport modes, six of which are automatically recognized based on the user’s movement.
The blood oxygen measurement (Sp02) is new and very seldom integrated in devices in this price range.
The Chinese tech giant continues to put the battery life at a very good value – up to 14 days.

Prices and availability
Although the Mi Band 6 was officially presented at the end of March, there is still no official date when it will be available in Germany. The RRP was set at EUR 44.99 (US$53).
