Smart shoes have been a topic in our magazine before. However, their focus was rather on function and not on style. Jane Yang, Marketing Manager of IShüu Technology will comment on her company’s approach towards shoes incorporating tech in the brief interview below.
1. What is the most important thing you learned while being involved in the topic of wearable technologies?
What seems to be the overriding lesson learned thus far is that while functionality is important, comfort is everything in wearables – as in physical, social and emotional comfort.
2. How can your company help bringing the world of fashion and the world of technology closer together?
We hope to bridge the fashion and tech world by leveraging our narrow but extremely extensive electronic displays expertise. We believe better and target specific information display interfaces will have a notable impact on how users consume, interact and interface with wearable services that are beyond other major input modalities such as hearing and touch.
3. What is your favorite wearable product/device (besides your own) of 2015?
It would have to be Google Glass. While the product has and still is facing hurdles, its sheer audacity and boldness is admirable. Executing wrist worn wearables is orders of magnitude easier than building something on the scale of Glass. As such it is the outright favorite.
