Raccoon.Recovery: goal-oriented physical rehabilitation tool based on ML, Big Data and video gaming that makes recovery after injuries and neurological diseases fast, engaging, effective and accessible to everyone in need. At the same time, it helps rehab centres to increase revenue up to +150%.
Raccoon has built hardware devices to attach to patient’s arms, legs, back or hands. And there is an application that tracks the treatment. But the secret sauce is – rehabilitation is finally fun. These devices may be connected to any existing video games. With Raccoon.Recovery rehab process goes as follows:
- Setting personalized goals
- Checking the patient´s condition with automated examination tests
- Creating an error-free course by AI
- Then the patient is playing video games with the list of prescribed movements
- The application helps to track the progress and correct the course in real time
Recently, Raccoon.Recovery for hands was launched in Germany with a simplified functionality (examination tests, gamified treatments and remote monitoring) while they are doing trials and gather Big Data for implementing ML-based functions. Prior to launching a machine-learning product, course building and game selection are performed by a physiotherapist or other clinician responsible for the patient.
The team has already got funding from EU program Horizon 2020, become a member of outstanding startup acceleration and incubation programs like SABIT (USA) and Startupbootcamp Digital Health (Germany) and YC School (USA). It was also named TOP 12 companies in TeleRehabilitation by Fortune 100 and TOP 35 best world startups by Startup World Cup 2019. Now the company is searching for additional funding to scale faster and for academic partners to conduct trials.
